HP 8120-2208 SOURCE
CONTROL CABLE
The HP 8120-2208 Source Control cable is used to connect the HP 8620C Sweep Oscillator to the HP 8410C Network Analyser. The 8410C has an auto-frequency range mode which gives it the capability of automatically tracking the 8620C over octave and multi-octave frequency bands from 110MHz to 18GHz. This cable must be used when sweeping or the 8410C will not phase-lock properly.

February 2010
Having tested the 8620C Sweep Oscillator, I have made up the cable (with thanks to Steve K for supplying the connectors).
HP 8410C Rear Panel Connections
I think the Source Control Cable is probably only required when 'Multi-Band' RF Plug-in's are used such as the 86290A/B/C or the 8621A/B with 2 RF Modules fitted. With 'Single-Band' RF Plug-In's such as the 86220, I don't think that the cable will be required. When I get round to testing the HP 8410C Network Analyser this should resolve this issue.
August 2019
Finally got round to testing the 8410C with the 8620C and the Source Control Cable is working as expected.
All the 8407A & 8410C based Network Analyser System has now been Sold.
